The Book of Jonah is one of the favorite of the minor prophets. Likely, this is because of the story. Divide the group/class evenly into four smaller groups and have each small group work together to tell the story of their chapter in their own words. Find some helpful hints below.

Jonah 1:1-17 - after reading the chapter individually look for the phrase “the Lord”. Be sure and discuss God’s activity.

Jonah 2:1-10 - discover and share some prayer points and principles from this chapter. Please see Matthew 12:38-41 & Luke 11:29-32.

Jonah 3:1-10 - See Jonah 3:1-4 and don’t miss the 40 day experience.

Jonah 4:1-11 - Observe Jonah’s anger, God’s compassion and provision.

Conclude your session by coming up with at least three life lessons from this book.
