First Things First- Open your time in prayer.
Ice Breaker Activity: A lifelong dear friend of mine used to say “Don’t scrimp on your shoes or your mattress.” Why do you think he said this and might there be truth in this statement? Share with the group any insights you might have on either or both.
The word “gospel”, similar to the word “church”, appears many times in the New Testament and never in the Old Testament. The word “gospel” means Good News. Read aloud the Scriptures below and discuss what these verses reveal about the gospel.
Mark 1:14-15
Romans 1:1-17 (see especially verses 1, 9, 16, 17)
Romans 15:14-20 (see especially verses 16, 19, 20)
1 Corinthains 15:1-4
Ephesians 6:18-20
Colossians 4:2-6
From your reading, observations, and discussion work together to describe/define what the gospel means and seek to come up with some practical ways it might be shared.
Close your time in prayer.
